Melani Albritton began her journey with Operation New Hope in 2009 as an intern, driven by a passion for supporting second chances and strengthening communities. Over the years, she has advanced through several leadership roles, including Intake Specialist, Youth Development Specialist, Supervisor of Recruitment and Intake, Program Services Manager, and Workforce Development Director. She now serves as Senior Director of Quality Assurance, where she leads cross-functional efforts to promote excellence, equity, and innovation throughout the organization.
In her current role, Melani develops and implements operational processes and procedures across multiple sites to ensure staff remain in compliance with organizational expectations. Her work supports consistency, accountability, and high-quality service delivery for all participants. She also spearheads grant lifecycle management, conducting in-depth funding research, crafting compelling proposals, and overseeing implementation, reporting, and closeout activities to align resources with strategic priorities.
Melani is known for creating innovative tools and solutions, including customized budget management systems that help optimize grant utilization and strengthen fiscal oversight. Her ability to navigate complex, multi-site operations, while maintaining a people-centered approach, reflects her deep commitment to the growth and sustainability of Operation New Hope’s work.
With more than 16 years of experience serving justice-involved and underserved populations, Melani brings a strong blend of operational leadership, policy knowledge, and compassionate service. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Edward Waters University and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public and Nonprofit Management from Liberty University. She is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and the loving mother of two sons. In her free time, Melani enjoys making memories with her family, attending live concerts, and listening to her favorite 90s R&B music.
